I am from Busan, South Korea, and I live in The Dalles, Oregon.

I started painting when I was in high school and in 1976 I earned my degree in fine arts.

My favorite subjects are city scapes, night time sceneries, natural landscapes, and flowers, especially in contrast to urban backdrops. In my early days I worked on techniques that explored different combinations of oil, ink, pencils, watercolors and collage on paper and woodblocks. By 1983, I had my first solo exhibition featuring these techniques. That same year, I joined the Korea Watercolor Association and participated in the Korea Watercolor Association’s group exhibitions. My list of career exhibitions include:

  • 1st Solo Exhibition, Gonggan Gallery (1983)

  • Korea Watercolor Paris Exhibition (1984)

  • Korea Watercolor Kobe Exhibition (1984)

  • Korea Watercolor Busan Branch Exhibition (1985)

  • 2nd Solo Exhibition, Myungmok Gallery, Busan (1986)

In 1989 I moved to America, where I took a hiatus to raise two daughters and established my own fine arts studio for young kids.

Today I am beginning a new chapter of my art, currently focused on digital mediums. Thank you for visiting my site.

In art, democracy means that some thought of your own, some feeling you have about the thing yourself, should enter into everything you have to do, so that everything you have may be your own and everything you do be sincerely yourself.
